Cook It Up! Session #3 -- Photo Gallery

                   A TRIP TO DOLWAY

Below are some of the images captured during what proved to be a well-received, fun and educational session

for the youth involved. The next Cook It Up! Session takes place September 28, 2009, at 825 Central

Avenue, 6 p.m.  Guest Chef will be Kent Van Dyk and tomatoes will be the featured ingredient.

The London Community Resource Centre's community-

collaborative pilot project, Cook It Up!, held its third session

Sept. 14, 2009, and the youth participants were shown the

importance and relevance of "from farm to fork" in relation to

the selection, preparation and consumption of healthy, local produce.

The class involved an educational fieldtrip to Dolway Organic

Gardens, a local area farm, where youth were educated about

the production of local food and picked fresh produce which

was used to prepare a delicious and nutritious meal during the

cooking class that followed.

*** When all was said and done, the Cook It Up! youth returned to the kitchen where, using the fresh, local produce picked at Dolway Organic Gardens, they created a Butternut squash soup, and a potatoe salad of their own, individual creation.

A big thanks to John Wilson and all the folks at Dolway for their hospitality and generosity in providing the wonderful venue for the first Cook It Up! fieldtrip and deliciously fresh produce for a spectactular meal.
