Bringing together individuals, organizations and
resources to foster community action
The LCRC's Community Garden Program was the winner of the
Pillar Community Collaboration Award in 2008.
At present, there are 22 garden sites across the city
with five new garden sites in the developing stages for 2009.
Each site offers a shared piece of land where individuals or families may rent garden
plots and grow vegetables, fruit and herbs of their choice.
Garden plots are rented on a geared-to-income basis, allowing affordability for every
interested gardener.
