Local Food for Local Tables Conference
On November 27, 2008, the LCRC, in conjuction with FoodNet Ontario, initiated the Local
Food for Local Tables Conference: Growing Food Security for southwestern Ontario.
The conference took place at Brescia University College, in London, and set out to
accomplish a specific goal and objectives:
GOAL -- To bring together organizations, individuals, farmers, retailers and distributors to
discuss ways to bring locally grown food to consumers.
OBJECTIVES: To encourage and facilitate local buying and growing of food and to promote
activities that will lead to the development of a food system plan for our region.
